There are so many things that people can do on the internet that are free and many people are not aware of them. I hope to shed some light on these secrets so that you too can take advantage of them.
First I am going to show you how to create your own yahoo profile so that people that have the same interest can find you more easily. If you don't have a yahoo profile then all this is new. If you do have a yahoo profile and are using these useful tips then this is going to open new doors for you.
You will need to first set up a free yahoo email account if you have not already done so. This will give you an initial user name as well as give you access to yahoo's free email services.
When you decide on an initial user name remember to keep in mind that it should be something that your friends can remember. A name like gelly435undergrass may be a little hard for a person to remember when you only have a few seconds to give them your email address etc. Try to stick with something that includes your name and maybe a short number. If your name is Sally something like sally1234 would be one someone can remember on the fly.
Once you have your email account set up with yahoo you can go to the profiles section and create a profile. Profiles are short pages with some simple information so that others can search and find people with the same interest. If you don't want to meet new people then creating a profile is of no use. However if you like to make new friends then the profile can be an important key to opening new doors.
Let's say you live in Watercreek, Illinois and it is a town of about 500 people. If you just put Illinois no one will know what city you are in. If you just put Watercreek no one may ever find you unless they also live there.
To expand your chances of having someone pull up your profile page the best thing is to use your city, the nearest large city, the state, and the state abbreviation. So if Chicago is the largest city close to you the location would look like this: Watercreek, Chicago, Illinois, Il. Now you just created a location that can be found by thousands of people in your area.
Anyone living in or around the Chicago area now may possibly pull up your profile page and see that they are close enough to make contact as a new friend. You will be able to do the same with others as more people use this technique for labeling their location.
For women putting blonde, redhead or whatever your hair color is and 5ft4in or your height using this format xftxin allows people to find you not only by common interest but also allows them to search for you via qualities that they find attractive. And when men put their height 5ft11in this gives women the ability to search for guys in the height range they are interested in. Of course what a person looks like is not everything however 99% of the people in the world do have factors in appearance that they are attracted to.
Three select blocks
When doing a search on yahoo profiles there are three boxes that are select boxes
with choices you can make. They are: Select a GENDER, Select an AGE RANGE,
and Select a MARITAL STATUS. It is also important to enter this information so that
people can see find you via your particular status in age, gender and marriage. For
those single and looking this is very useful in letting others know you are interested
in meeting new friends with a possibility of a relationship.
Once you complete your profile you are ready to meet new people. They of course will be able to find you based on the information you put in your profile and you are also now ready to go find others by searching the profiles yourself.
Let's say you want to search for women that have user names that start with blonde. Go to the nickname box and enter blonde or blon and then click on search. If you get too many results you can cut the range of people you are searching on by selecting an age range.
If you like to bowl and want to find others who like to bowl go to the keywords box and enter bowl or bowling. Select the age range of people you would like to bowl with. Put the state you are in as well and see what results you get on a search. If you get too many then you can add a city along with the state.

Freeservers also has sample formats for your website and all you do is edit the content of their sample pages to create your own website. One very good reason to have a website is that it gives you a way to earn income from the internet as well. There are a few affiliate programs available on the internet that offer you code to add to your pages and when someone clicks on one of these links you earn referral income.
The internet gives everyone in the world that has a computer with internet access the opportunity to earn money worldwide. Let's say you have a site that is about STAMPS. The subject of your site should be in your keywords at least three times but no more then seven. So for keywords you would want stamps to appear at least three times.
NOT: stamps, stamps, stamps, collecting, collecting collecting.
USE: stamps, collecting, collectors, Stamps, post office, postage stamps, vintage
Notice that in example one that each of the keywords is one after the other while in the second example they are spread out with other keywords seperating them. This will get you better results on searches.
I don't depend on search engines for promoting my site. The reason being that there can be thousands of site with the same content as mine. There can only be ten people in the top ten slot and it is too much trouble to keep up with the competition to stay in there.
I will give you a few links here of surf for hits programs that are very effective. I suggest you sign up for each of them as they are free and be sure to use each one for about 10-15 minutes each day or at least one to two hours a week. This will give your site exposure and help you get traffic to your site.
